Story Time!

"Sally Sore Loser"
A story about winning and losing
By: Frank J. Sileo

Have a discussion about winning and losing with your child! Many times these issues come up on the playground or at recess and children don't know how to deal with it. One way I teach the students to deal with small issues is to play Rocks, Paper, Scissors! The children should play one time  (not best out of three) and who ever wins RPS gets the decision in their favor. No arguing over the result and play continues. Practice RPS with your children at home :)

I HOPE YOU HEARD ABOUT THIS !!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday was the most exciting work day! Not only is SPEED STACKS an activity that spans the ages it also helps with reading and math. Cups are used from left to right which simulates reading patterns. Both dominant and non-dominant hands are used which means using both brain hemispheres. Exercises fine motor skills and increases Hand Eye Coordination. The list goes on!  Your children all played with their own set of cups to learn patterns then participated in different games and competitions. It was an AWESOME day!
