Play Ball!

First Grade

Working on the batting tee and throwing overhand (at a target) while stepping with their                            opposite foot.

Second Grade
The Second Grade has been working on basic racket skills
which is HARD!  I am so proud of this moment for Maddie and Kevin.

Pre K
                                                          Batter up!
Toss the "pancake" racket skills

Pre School 3
Toss the "pancake" to the hoop.
There is a LOT of skills here! Hold a racket, pick up bean bag with 1 hand, put it on the racket, balance the bb so it stays on the racket, and then toss to a target! I'm tired just thinking about it :)

Nursery 2

We needed to learn safety before we can play. Notice, all the students are sitting at a safe distance from the batting tee and bat. Each student gets to place the ball and then hit it off. When we can show how to be safe this will become a station for N2.

Another learning moment.... N2 is working on rolling at a target. Part of that learning is listening and following directions! The students were asked to stand on the line and roll together. After my direction they could retrieve their ball while trying not to knock over pins.

Kindergarten
Throwing while stepping with the opposite foot!
Pass the "pancake" racket skills
Bounce and catch with a target

Yesterday was the most exciting work day! Not only is SPEED STACKS an activity that spans the ages it also helps with reading and math. Cups are used from left to right which simulates reading patterns. Both dominant and non-dominant hands are used which means using both brain hemispheres. Exercises fine motor skills and increases Hand Eye Coordination. The list goes on!  Your children all played with their own set of cups to learn patterns then participated in different games and competitions. It was an AWESOME day! Finishing up February

8th Grade had a great day outside to finish up flag football :) Nursery 2 has been practicing "tracking" with their eyes.  Nursery 3 students have advanced to station rotation!! In the past the students have had specific equipment put out and they could move around to each station as they chose. Now, two friends are assigned a station to work at for a period of time and then move to the next. This allows children to interact with different friend each class and ensures that they work on each skill.
